2023 Fishing Regulations

The Ministry of Natural Resources in Ontario is very committed to ensuring that its regulations and laws are followed by all residents and visitors throughout the province.  We support their efforts and continue to encourage conservation of the Red Lake water system. Please follow this link to the current 2023 Fishing Regulations.

License Options

You must obtain an Ontario fishing license prior to any angling on either Red Lake or Parker Lake.  These licenses are available at Red Lake Marine in the town of Red Lake or online.

There are two 8-day license options:

Sport License
This is considered the full license and allows a daily and possession limit of 4 northern pike and 4 walleye.  The 2021 cost of this license was approximately $53.38 + HST (CAD)

Conservation License
This license allows a daily and possession limit of 2 northern pike and 2 walleye.  The 2021 cost of this license was approximately $31.02 + HST (CAD)

Outdoors Card
No matter which license you choose, you must also purchase an Ontario Outdoors Card.  The cost is $8.57 + HST (CAD) and is good for 3 years.  This card will allow you to renew your license online for future trips.

Slot Limits

All northern pike between 27.5″ and 35.4″ must be released immediately and 1 may be kept over 35.4″.  To read about our new walleye conservation policy visit this page.

Please remember any fish in the camp under your name count against your limit.  Contact us with any questions or consult the full MNR regulations booklet.

Taking Fish Home

You may take home your daily limit of fish at the end of your stay.  We provide everything you need for freezing fish.  Remember to bring a cooler if you plan to transport fish home.  Fish cleaning instructions are provided at camp.  All fish taken home must be in the same vehicle as the license holder.
