While winter still has a firm grip on Northern Ontario, we’re watching it all from Texas. The lake at Eagle Falls Lodge remains covered in ice and snow, quietly waiting for spring to do its work. Up north, the season always takes its time, and that’s part of what makes opening day so special.
From here in Texas, we’re already looking ahead—getting plans in place, checking gear, and counting down the days until we head back. Soon enough the ice will pull away from the shoreline, the boats will be back in the water, and the sound of loons will return to the lake.
Opening day is May 23, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another unforgettable season at the lodge. Until then, we’ll keep dreaming about that first cast of the summer and the moment the line finally tightens.
