I’ve fished your end of Red Lake for almost 35 years.Very familiar with Flat and Russet lake. But never heard of Paulore. Is it near your section of Red. Also do you have a boat on Flat for customers? Last time I fished it Black Bear Lodge had a boat located on it because there was no public launch. Dave.

Thanks for the comment. Russet flows into Paulore which flows into Red. It is a couple miles south of Red Lake near St. Paul’s Bay. Our guests have fished it by portaging a kayak or canoe into the lake, but it is a very difficult portage so any fish caught are well earned. We do not have a boat on Flat. Our guests fish it with their own boats or by renting a camp boat from the marina and utilizing the unofficial launch on the east side which amounts to just a hole in the weeds. At times you almost need a roller trailer to get a boat in and out easily.
