This kind of sums up how we feel moving forward as we head to Canada next week to begin the process of opening the camp. As most of you know the border closure has been extended until June 21st and will be reevaluated again at that time based on the number of covid cases, positivity rates, and percentage of the population getting vaccinated.
Our plan is to arrive in Red Lake around the middle of June and begin our two weeks of self-quarantine. During the quarantine, we will get the camp up and running with the understanding that we market only to domestic guests. There has been speculation ranging from another 30-day extension of the border being closed, to maybe a mid to late July lifting of the closure. Please be aware that there is a lot of information out there regarding the possibility of the border being opened and most of it is speculation or wishful thinking rather than fact.
The truth is we just do not know for sure but are truly excited to be allowed into the country and to at least be given an opportunity to get the camp up and running with some hope of generating some much-needed revenue!
We will begin posting updates regularly with pictures of the lodge once we arrive and have our internet up and running.
