Alright. So it’s Saturday and you show up in Red Lake before noon. You’re waiting to meet Travis at the marina and getting just a little bit hungry. What to do? Head to Spud & Dog. This food truckish stand sits right next to the water. We say “truckish” because while it is a truck – it never moves. Head to the stoplight (that’s right – THE stoplight because there is only one) and turn right and you won’t miss it.
Hot dogs are definitely the highlight here (our go-to is hot dog with mustard, onion, relish, & pickle!), but they also serve chicken, burgers, fries, and onion rings. Poutine is a local favorite – french fries smothered in gravy and cheese. Delicious!
Spud & Dog opens at 11am on Saturdays and only accepts cash. While they will accept U.S. cash, there is also an ATM across the street that will dispense Canadian cash. Check it out on your next trip!
