Closing up Shop

Hello to all!

Is it possible that this week has gone by faster than any other week?  We have attempted to strike a balance between work and play as we continue shutting down the lodge after the end of another fantastic summer.  Seriously, you guys are the best.  We always experience this moment of wonder at the end of the season.  A “did that really happen?” type feeling.  Then we take a REALLY long nap, wake up, and have a wave of gratitude wash through us.  We feel so incredibly fortunate to be on this adventure, and it wouldn’t be possible without all of you.  So, thanks!

This week has been full of motor winterizing, cleaning up, hauling boats, eating leftovers, making fires, checking off lists, oh – and some fishing, too!  Today we will enjoy the last walleye dinner of the season and then pull the last camp boat out of the water.  Its been a bit on the chilly side.  At breakfast this morning, it wasn’t even breaking 40 degrees – inside!  The sun has come out each afternoon, which helps tremendously.  It is almost as if mother nature is nudging us on out of here.  “Get out while you can!”  Ha!
