There’s a saying that there are two seasons – winter…and construction season. That’s never more true than in northwestern Ontario. Summer is definitely construction season and road crews work hard to repair winter damage in the few short months where work is possible.
Guests are reporting some minimal construction in Fort Frances along highway 11. The worse section appears to be a good stretch on highway 105 south of Ear Falls. There are currently five one-way stretches with active work. These delays are adding anywhere from 30-60 minutes to the usual five-hour drive from the border to Red Lake. Keep this in mind on your drive north if you have yet to make the trip this summer!
