Eagles soar and those lucky enough can catch what is considered a Red Lake treasure!
Weeks 5 and 6 were a repeat of previous weeks as guests enjoyed catching some nice fish! We again had several nice Master Anglers caught and to add to the excitement several of our guests were fortunate enough to catch lake trout which are considered a Red Lake treasure.
These particular fish, based on the identifiable fin clippings, were from a 2007 cohort and were stocked back in 2009 as part of a restoration project by the Ministry of Natural Resources. How exciting to see that these fish have done so well and have contributed to the overall lake trout population!
Please remember when fishing for lake trout you must you a single barb-less hook, no live bait, and of course all lake trout must be released back into the water.
We hope you enjoy the pictures of weeks 5 and 6 as much as we did! If interested in coming up be sure to check under availability as we have openings throughout the summer.
Take care and have a great summer,
