As we wait patiently for news on the border opening, we received news today that a potentially fast-moving and dangerous wildfire was moving toward the town of Red Lake and that there may be a mandatory evacuation later today (July 13, 2021) or tomorrow.
We are packing up and preparing to leave as you are reading this update, there is concern that because of the fire’s size and the current wind conditions the lodge could be in its path. It’s hard to believe just a few days ago we were enjoying drinks on the patio and now the air is barely tolerable… Things can change in a hurry
