As you can see by the pictures the smoke has dissipated and the skies are a little brighter. We remain on an evacuation alert as the fires have grown in size, fortunately, we have had favorable winds and there is some rain in the forecast later on this week.
We remain cautiously optimistic that with favorable winds and some much-anticipated rains we will remain out of harm’s way. Special “Thanks” to all of the Red Lake firefighters for all of their efforts in protecting the entire Red Lake community! They are simply THE BEST!!
Speaking of things getting brighter around here, we just heard that the Canadian government will start allowing U.S. guests into the country starting on August 9th! Wow… Favorable winds predicted rain, and the border opening, it just doesn’t get much better than that!!! We will update the blog as details become available regarding the border crossing requirements so be sure to check in for blog updates regularly.
